The problem that I think is major nowadays is due to lack of exposure and knowledge many students end up with careers they are not passionate about. Many students don’t know in which field they are interested after completing their FS.c and they choose the wrong fields. Some of them adjust themselves but not all the students go with the flow, they want to do something else in practical life and they study something else.

It is important to start planning way before. As it happens that students are not even done with their 12th finals and they have to start applying for the universities. At that moment they don’t even have the time to think about what field to choose.

I interviewed a few of my friends, and according to them, they didn’t have the time to think of what career they want to pursue. What they wanted for their future. According to them they randomly applied for different fields in different universities and then selected their careers on the basis of the fields they got selected for. And so do me.

This interview and the personal experience gave rise to only one thought that how lightly we take our future. It’s not only our future, it’s the future of our parents linked with us, the future of our generation.

It is no unusual being asked on the very first day of university “Are you here by chance or by choice”. As I have been through this day as well and I wish along with the other students I would have answered it honestly that day but never mind. It is of no use to cry over spilt milk. Now what I want is that not every but the highest rate of students answer this question honestly and with the answer ‘by choice’. This will greatly affect the enthusiasm of students as they are willing for what’s offered to them as it is their own choice made by themselves. Not only this but the perfect knowledge of their selected course will keep them aware of increasing step by step difficulties in the course, as with the idea of it they will be prepared and they can combat them with their own strategies.
